Purpose
To recognize outstanding efforts by ACS local sections to promote chemistry to the public or to local section members.
Description
These awards are given to local sections by the ACS Committee on Public Relations and Communications to recognize outstanding efforts by local sections to promote chemistry to the public or to local section members. Partnerships with other organizations for these activities are welcome, but please note that the nominated event or activity must be primarily driven by the local section.
Two awards are given each year, one recognizing new public relations or communications programs by local sections and one recognizing the continuing public relations or communications programs of local sections. These awards are presented annually at the ChemLuminary Awards Ceremony, which is typically held in the fall.
How to Apply
Nominations for the LSPR awards are submitted through the local section Annual Report. If you have participated in a local section activity that should be nominated for these awards, contact your local section leaders.
