Local Section Funding & Awards
The American Chemical Society offers several grants and mini-grants to encourage local sections to spread their passion for chemistry throughout their communities. We also celebrate outstanding contributions by local sections and volunteers with awards.
Grants for Local Sections
Corporation Associates Local Section & International Chapter Grant
Encouraging ACS local sections and international chapters to promote and host industry-focused events, such as job fairs and networking receptions.
Global Innovation Grant
Supporting funding to ACS units, especially international chapters, for internationally collaborative and innovative activities/events.
Global Innovation Imperatives (Gii)
Providing funding for a multi-day forum/conference that contributes to the resolution of global sustainability issues.
Local Section Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Respect (DEIR) Grant
Providing up to $3,000 to local sections for embracing and advancing inclusion and equity across ACS and in their communities.
Local Section Innovative Project Grant
Encouraging ACS local sections to conceive and implement innovative projects as well as maintain growth.
Local Section Member Engagement and EnhancemenT (LS-MEET)
The Local Section Member Engagement and EnhancemenT (LS-MEET) grant program is designed to specifically strengthen and build community in Local Sections of the American Chemical Society.

Recognizing a local section that has introduced a new and outstanding program promoting sustainability at the local level.
