In this webinar, we will explore how to turn real world issues into fun, solution-oriented projects that integrate technology along with equity and inclusive practices that gets students excited about advocating for their community.

This webinar is a follow-up webinar in our project-based learning webinar series. As a continuation of the project-based learning theme, this webinar will focus on taking project-based learning to the next level by focusing on community ideas, inclusion, and more!

Speaker Alisha M. Bailey,Teacher - Alisha M. Bailey received her B.S. in Chemistry from Spelman College and her M.S. in Environmental Sciences from Alabama A&M University. Alisha worked for the government in the environmental health field as an Environmental Compliance Specialist in Atlanta, GA. Through her master’s program, her knowledge and focuses were fisheries, aquaponics, and water management research. Alisha has presented her research at various conferences.

Alisha has various publications in science journals including SpringerPlus, American Society of Engineering Education, and AACT. Currently, Alisha serves as a Program Manager at Southern Methodist University, where she leads engineering outreach engineering camps for K-16. She develops community and real-world project-based curriculum that aims to facilitate student’s advocacy in their community.
